We are about 3 hours west of Chicago on Hwy 20. We are located in the shadows of the Driftless region of Illinois. Within a 30 minute drive is Galena, where you can visit wineries, incredible golf, antiques, top quality restaurants, many lovely B&Bs, more shopping than you can do in a day.
Why do you grow certified organic cut flowers and starter plants?
It is important to me that I grow all of my plants under the safest conditions for me, my employees, my animals. I am very interested in using a vital soil and know that I need to replenish it as I continue to use it. I am concerned about the land and water around me and I am loath to use poisons which will contaminate my land and water, the surrounding land and water, and all of the wildlife in my area.
Do you sell to plants the public?
We offer some of our overstock to the public starting mid -May. We offer a good selection of all of our herbs and vegetables and put them outside in front of our warehouse in a nice display. Sales are primarily based on the honor system. We don’t have regular business hours for the public to browse our products.
Generally no, we do offer buckets of flowers for weddings by appointment only, minimums apply. More details on wedding flowers are available here.
Can I come for a visit to your farm?
We welcome tours; we do charge a small fee for large groups, and require an appointment.
Do you still offer cooking classes?
We do teaching dinner parties onsite and in your kitchen, all arrangements require advanced notice due to the chef’s teaching schedule.
Do you offer weddings on your farm?
Although we have not had a wedding here yet, it has always been a dream of mine to have a wedding here in my gardens. We do have the capability to cater a modest event. All facilities (tent, portable toilets, tables, chairs, etc.) need to be provided by an outside vendor. We would have the gardens in tip-top shape!
